Since the onset of the global pandemic, many newsrooms and organizations have transitioned to a remote office structure for the safety of their employees. For many it created challenges for collaboration, technology and even onboarding of new employees. While many of have been working tirelessly to maintain the same quality of work and office culture for the past several months, organizations like Gannett have been doing this for years.

From freelancers and remote offices to onboarding new employees, Gannett has plenty of experience through successful programs and not so successful programs in the remote work world. What do designers, photographers, graphic artists need? How do you onboard new employees to a remote environment and have them still feel connected?
