Help us design SND’s future

Society for News Design

We’re at a pivotal point in SND. As we seek to identify a more viable model for the organization, we need your input. A team of SND members has put together a survey to solicit input on the organization’s evolution.

Ongoing industry challenges and a year of lockdown have compounded a decade of difficulties in serving a disparate membership, addressing declining numbers and balancing revenue and expenses.

We also understand that the needs of our members have certainly changed. So, we’d like to hear from you about how we can make SND more helpful, relevant and valuable to our colleagues and the industry.

This survey is open to current, former and prospective members. As an extra incentive, you can submit your email address and be entered into a random drawing for one of two prizes.

  1. A one-year membership to SND (5)
  2. A 1:1 virtual conversation with an industry leader and visionary

We know everyone feels busy, but please take the time to give us your input — this should take 10 minutes or less to complete. It’s not hyperbole to say that the future of our beloved organization depends on it. Deadline: May 1.

Special thanks to a newly gathered membership committee for their guidance in assembling this poll:
Stefanie Goodwiller, University of Mississippi
Stephanie Hays, Seattle Times
Tara McCarty, Washington Post
Douglas Okasaki, freelance art director
Kris Viesselman (chair), Wander Magazine

Note: If you are having trouble viewing the survey below, you can take the survey through Survey Monkey.
