The media industry has not had the easiest years of late, but the craft and values of journalistic visual storytelling has so much value. Today, governments, associations, non-profits and corporations are focusing on telling their stories, hiring designers, UX leaders, graphic artists, AR/VR specialists and CX experts. Journalism and visuals, and how they are delivered, have the power to help audiences understand an increasingly complex world, now outside of the newsroom.

The Washington Post’s Emily Chow moderates a fireside chat with OpenNews’s Sisi Wei and McKinsey’s Janet Michaud on how journalist values in design and communication are more important than ever and the need for these skills are expanding beyond the newsroom.
