Our long form judges finished up the news Category 20 entries on Friday, and will finish sports and features over the rest of the weekend.
It was an eventful day at judging in Syracuse today. The good news is that the snow has stopped. The bad news is that means it’s about to get colder.
I spent the day floating between an excellent student session and the hard-working long form team, taking a few Polaroids for my scrap book.
The long form team started judging today, looking at the Category 20 (combination print and digital presentation) entries this afternoon. A great group of facilitators stuck with them throughout the afternoon to help them move through so many entries.
The judges got an early start on the combination print and digital entries.
While that team was hard at work, the SND student session was under way on another floor at the Newhouse school. There was a great turnout, with many students and professionals attending to see our four wonderful speakers.
Joe Hutchinson of Rolling Stone was one of four great speakers at the SND student session today at Newhouse.
The judges have received their assignments and instructions and eaten some Varsity pizza to give them the energy they will need for the long day tomorrow.
