We need your vote. The Society for News Design’s Annual Workshop and Exhibition is coming to Washington, D.C. in April — and we want to know what you would like to see on the program.
The working theme for the 2015 workshop is about looking ahead, with an eye on the skills and inspiration designers of news and information need to navigate in an increasingly complex media landscape. We’re dubbing this workshop, the 37th in the Society’s history, SNDDC: The Future of News Design.
I’m the co-chair of the program, along with Frank Mina of the San Francisco Chronicle, and we have a terrific group of volunteers from far and wide who are helping us plan. The event will be held at the Newseum, which is an amazing space in the heart of Washington.
But we want your advice on what’s most valuable. What works for a workshop. What should designers know now.
We also wonder if you’d be interested in other events, things like SND Makes or Pixel Punch, that would run concurrent with the conference. Washington is an awesome design city and there are some cool ideas for what we can make happen while everyone is in town.
So, please, we beg you: Take this quick survey to help us shape SNDDC. It takes just a few minutes. We’ll report back on results at the end of the month.
