SND updated its website earlier this week. While the timing of the new site and the announcement of the newly elected Board of Directors was coincidental, it is fitting because both the website and the announcement of the new board members embody the renewed commitment and spirit of the Society.
For the past four years there have been conversations among leadership of a new site that is more representative of SND as an association dedicated to continual growth and education of our industry and less of a “news” site. With many issues facing the organization in 2020 and 2021, the creation of a new site was pushed back as we addressed more pressing matters. In August, the previous hosting provider of SND.org notified us they would be shutting down mid-September.
Over the years, the SND website has been through many transformations, often creating a level of technical debt and broken links and content that was difficult to locate. As we continue to migrate to the new site and hosting provider in an agile method, we look to remove some of these previous hurdles and bring more value to SND members. This will be a continuous process as we prioritize and troubleshoot issues, migrate content and gather feedback from visitors to determine what features and areas to prioritize.
Some new features that you will find on SND.org:
- Member-Exclusive Content. As a member of SND, members can access event replays, special event offers and resources by logging into their SND account.
- UPDATED: Member Directory. Members can now share portfolio images, biographies, links, and their resumes with other SND members through the member directory. To update your profile, log-in and update your information at any time. Keeping your contact information up to date is the best way to ensure you receive all SND communications.
- NEW: Media Library. Visitors can now access a library of recordings from past SND events. We will continue to build out this library with content over time.
- REFORMATTED: Events Calendar. Keep up to date with all upcoming SND and industry events. Find upcoming or past events to watch.
- Job Board. Post an opening to the Job board or find a current opening. You can now search job postings by keyword, location and type.
Over the next few weeks, the SND site will continue to be updated with previously published content, new pages for the competition and various cosmetic updates. We are also working to gather all of the past winners into a single database that we will build up as we gather historical documents. We ask for your patience as we migrate content, resources and images to the site.
