SND Vision

Long story short, SND has given so much to me over the years that it seems an obvious choice to want to give a little something back. I hope that through my connections with the local viz and storytelling communities in Asia, my main value-add to SND will be to bridge this gap across regions. I see a keen interest from the SND community to raise up different voices and storytelling approaches. I saw and experienced this first-hand while attending this year’s annual creative competition in New York – this time in my role as volunteer and conference attendee. The fantastic choice to continue the SND annual awards during the pandemic, despite the logistical challenges, is so representative of the wonderful community and creative energy that SND members have. Having a team from Asia judging, one I was part of for two years running, really brought new ideas and opinions to the way we judge the best in visual storytelling. My hope is that my joining the SND board will only help further advance this positive trend, and also help raise up the diverse stories of Asia and beyond.
