SND Vision
As an outsider to SND, I’ve remained mostly just out of the Society’s orbit in the 15 years I’ve been in newspapers. I am, admittedly, new to the organization, but I think of that as something the SND Board can take advantage of. How can SND attract up-and-coming designers? Be a better support network? Provide education and inspiration in a changing news design landscape? Become an even more inclusive group than it is? How can more of the designers like me, who either don’t know about SND or are unsure about joining, decide to become involved? I hope to help figure that question out.
Bio
Allison Hong is a deputy design director at the Los Angeles Times. Before joining The Times in 2014, she was a page designer and Dow Jones News Fund copy editor at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. She was born in L.A. but grew up in Guangzhou, China.
