The 35th edition of The Society for News Design’s Best of News Design™ creative competition is under way!
This year, 27 visual journalism experts from around the world have gathered on the campus of Syracuse University to judge more than 8,600 entries over the next three days. 35th edition coordinator Colin Smith has given the judges their initial instructions and the groups have already started their work.
For the first time ever, the World’s Best judges are in the same venue as the rest of the judges. Those judges are just beginning their process of looking at the 192 papers entered in the World’s Best Designed Newspaper™ category.
The first categories on the tables: 4B, breaking national; 5B, special news topics national; 7I, opinion; 14A, B, C Photography: General News, Breaking News and News Feature.
The SND International Web Desk (SNDIWD) is up and running, and we’ll be bringing you live coverage, insight from our judges, plenty of winning entries, and some of the sights and sounds of this annual celebration of the best of visual journalism.
Stay tuned to SND.org throughout the weekend for the latest from Syracuse!
