1024 505 Society for News Design

The Society for News Design continues its monthly online series, Creative Conference Calls, on Wednesday, March 16, at noon (ET) with a discussion about designing for large breaking news stories.

News travels faster than ever and it changes just as quickly. How we treat and design for breaking news, such as the Russian invasion of Ukraine, in modern day and bring journalism ethics into our decisions involves designers, photographers, graphic designers and editors all working together. Javier Zarracina, Graphics Director for USA TODAY and Michael Tribble, Vice President of Integrated Storytelling for National Geographics Partners will discuss the ethics of photo selection, creating (and verifying) breaking news information graphics and how organizations must account for their local audiences during national and international events.

Registration for this Creative Conference Call is only $10 for non-SND attendees. Current active SND members are automatically registered for the monthly series for free.
