SND Honors

Registration Closes October 6th.
There will be no at-door registrations available.


Traditionally, SND has presented our annual awards and announced the winners of World’s Best at our Annual Workshop and Exhibition. For the past three years, SND has not been able to gather in-person to celebrate the achievements of our colleagues and celebrate them. SND Honors will gather the World’s Best winners, Judges’ Special Recognition winners and Lifetime Achievement recipients from 2020, 2021 and 2022 for an evening of networking, dinner and celebration in downtown Washington, D.C.

Attendance limited to 100 people.

Ticket includes cocktail reception and dinner.

It does not include registration to Designing Success on Oct 22.

2020 Lifetime Achievement Award
Matt Mansfield

The Lifetime Achievement Award, the Society’s highest individual honor, is presented for a significant body of work that has had a lasting influence on the field of journalism; extraordinary service to SND and its members; or a combination of both. The SND Lifetime Achievement Award was first bestowed upon visual journalism pioneer Mario Garcia in 1993. All previous honorees and their citations can be found here.

Our Master of Ceremonies

John Grimwade

John is Assistant Professor Emeritus in the School of Visual Communication at Ohio University. He’s worked on several newspapers and magazines, and has presented at many conferences around the world, John’s involvement in SND goes back thirty-five years and has included the co-hosting of ten infographic workshops, which were held before the annual conferences. In 2018, he received the Lifetime Achievement Award at SND/NYC.

FAQ

Q: Is Designing Success registration included in my SND Honors ticket?
A: No. These are two separate events.

Q: What is attire for SND Honors?
A: The suggested dress code for SND Honors is semi-formal/cocktail attire. Feel free to interpret the dress code in any way that best suits you, your comfort and your style.

Q: Are tickets refundable?
A: No, not automatically. We will evaluate refunds on a case by case basis.

Q: I purchased a ticket but can not attend. Can I just give my registration to someone else?
A: Generally tickets are not transferable. Because this is a limited attendance event, if you can not attend, we will offer your registration to someone on the waitlist. If they accept, you will be refunded. 

Q: Is there a waitlist if the event is sold out?
A: Yes, we will create a waitlist in case registrants can’t attend.

Q: I forgot to register, can I still register after the registration date has passed?
A: Unfortunately no. Because this is a catered event, we must have our numbers set five (5) days in advance  

Q: Do I have to be an SND member to attend SND Honors?
A: No, membership is not required.

Q: How can I become a sponsor?

Q: Can I purchase a table for the SND Honors?
A: Yes. We have a limited number of tables available for purchase. If you are interested in purchasing a table, please contact Jon Wile.
