Journalists from around the world have traveled to St. Petersburg, Florida, to participate in the Society for News Design’s annual Best of News Design competition. The 2016 contest year brought in over 6,500 entries, and 27 judges will have the difficult task of evaluating each one. Approximately 40 facilitators and students will also be on hand to assist in the process.

In addition to the judging, we will host the annual Karaoke Fundraiser to benefit the SND Foundation. Multiple students are awarded travel grants to attend workshops, including SND Charlotte, with money raised directly during karaoke night. Want to challenge your boss/coworker/friend/enemy/significant other to a song? Here’s how to do that.

As the weekend goes on, check back on this page for constant updates throughout the judging process. We will be live streaming the “uncuppings,” which means you will find out what won at the same time the judges do. Follow @snd on Twitter and like us on Facebook to make sure you don’t miss any important moments.

At the end of the weekend, we will announce the Best in Show winner (if we have one) and the finalists for World’s Best™ distinction. Winners of those top honors will be announced on April 21 at SND’s annual workshop. Once the final results are tallied, we’ll publish a database of all the winners, but for now, you can follow along through the livestream, or photo galleries of winning pages.
